Artist Kristin Waters Wise’s earliest artistic endeavors as a child were most often horses drawn in pencil. Horses have continued to be her favorite subjects and pencil her favorite medium. Today Kristin produces commissioned and original equine artwork in pencil as well as limited edition prints and note cards.

An enthusiast of equine art of all kinds, Kristin organized and managed the Virginia Equine Artists Fall Exhibitions held in 2004 and 2006 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA. She is also a founding member of Virginia Equine Artists Association and currently serves as the organization’s Publicity and Marketing Coordinator. She is also a member of International Equine Artists, The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge, and the Rockbridge Arts Guild.

Primarily a self taught artist, Kristin has taken occasional workshops and classes in drawing – with Barbara Oelke and Mary Shira – and watercolor painting with Mary Shira.
